On 24/08/2017 and after starting the day with 6V74 in Weston & calling in to Patchway on the way me & a couple of friends had a day at Newport & Cardiff with plenty of interesting steel traffiic & coals around
On 19/08/2017 we took the Grandson out for the day & went to the rare breeds farm at Totnes so while there i got a few interesting HST's before heading back on the Daytime Rivera to Exeter before taking him home then back to Taunton for Union of south Africa for what could be my last shots of it
On 26/07/2017 with Oxford being shut for upgrading work & all freight's diverted via Acton i headed to the Thames Valley but all didn't quite go to plan on getting to Maidenhead missed two as camera was in bag due to the weather & then the next camera was on wrong setting but with the weather improving headed further east & even had a big surprise in a 56 turning up with no gen on it at all so not a bad day after all & it goes to show how busy this section of line is even without all the diverts
Week beginning 17/707/2017 had a weeks holiday in the New Forest so & did a 3 in 7 Freedom of Severn & Solent so on 18/07/2017 & the first day of the ticket went to Wareham to have another run on the Swanage service & this time had 37518 paired with 33025 before filling in my atlas with the line to Weymouth
On 19/07/2017 i went to Eastleigh for an evening to get 37601 fresh from repaint at Allingtons & timed it right for a busy hour
On 20/07/2017 i used my rover for the 2nd day & went to Lymington which i hadn't done since the last day of slammers then on to Portsmouth for a harbour tour
On 21/07/2017 i used my FRover ticket for the last time 7 had a day at Eastleigh which was really quiet unlike it usually is
On 11/07/2017 & after getting the Royal Scotsman passing Weston i headed out with the intention of a day at Westburyon arriving & finding the overnight stones from Dagenham & Acton were still there & the Bescot hadn't departed it was 2hrs before i got any frieght in the shape of a rather late running Bescot so after that i headed to Reading West & that wasn't much better so it was off to Taunton for the recently named HMS Argyle
There are times when its worth going out for just one thing and the 10/07/2017 was one of those days which involved GBRF sending 66775 to Devonport Dockyard to be named the following day and as it was booked to run via the B & H i went to Cogload Junc for it in its exworks condition with plates covered
On 08/07/2017 while at the Swanage Railway found out there was a Kettle tour from Weymouth so me & a few friends hung around after our last train so we could get our thrid Crompton of the day at Wareham
On 06/06/2017 had gen that 37057 was around Eastleigh & knowing it would work i went to Basingstoke to get it as it was one i needed since it came back on the mainline & afterwards went to Reading West for a few stone trains before heading home which involved a lot of changes to plan as the signals were down in the Hayes area
