On 23/12/2016 the day my Christmas brake started i ventured out as the HOBC was being returned to Taunton Fairwater Yard in two portions so managed to get the first portion in the last bit of daylight
On 14/12/2016 with gen that 37424 Vulcan would be around Bristol with caroline i had a day around the area again
On 29/11/2016 paid another visit to Weston station for the Bristol RHTT which has another pair of engines making 3 different pairs this year so far
On 15/11/2016 the day after getting the Freightliner 66's on the RHTT there was only one place to get them on there first visit to Weston-super-Mare but at the station
On 14/11/2016 met with some friends for a walk alpng part of the S&D from bath but before we set off & knowing Freightliner 66's were now on the Bristol RHTT we had a bit of time at Temple Meads
On 01/11/2016 and having a day off i decided to venture to Bristol as this was the day after Cross Country had an operating incident with 1S51 the day before so was hoping for a shot of the power car & with the Bridgwater running made a change to get that there as well
On 25/10/2016 & my last day of 11 off i popped out for the only freight that is booked to run in daylight around Weston
On 24/10/2016 went to Patchway as this was the day GWR unveiled the Welshman vinyls on 43187/188 & combined it with doing some other locations around Bristol that will be lost when the electrification is done & the new Metro Bus network
On 17/10/2016 while heading to Tonbridge (see out and about) i was changing trains at Temple Meads to find 43185 waiting to head ECS to Bristol Parkway
On 16/10/2016 after the previous weekends Colas rail drop train being sent via Bristol this time we had the Rail Vac return the same way & me not checking the gen hadn't realised that GWR's 43185 was on its way up so was glad when tipped off that it was on 1C19 from Paddington but a long wait was had as 1A29 was late arriving
On 15/10/2016 being my first day of 11 days off saw the first run of the Bristol RHTT so it was down the station for the full sun clean shots & no doubt will be out for it again
On 12/10/2016 saw both of GWR's celebriry power cars being paired up on a green set & they worked 1C28 from Paddington so even though it was late thought would give it a go as its booked in on 2 but for some reason the panel put it in on 1
On 09/10/2016 Coals returbned a rail drop train to Westbury via Weston instead of direct over the B&H so as havent seen a Colas around for a while took the oppertunity to get it
On 05/10/2016 saw DRS return the stock from Pathfinders Autumn Chieftian but due it arriving over 6hrs late at Exeter the ECS was delayed by 24hrs
On 02/10/2016 saw the last summer season working of The Royal Duchy but due to unavailble Steam Engine WCRC suppiled a 57
On 29/09/2016 DRS worked a positioning move for the following days tour to Inverness
On 24/09/2016 West Coast railway brought The Spirit Of The Lakes Pullman to Weston on the Weston Flyer from Skegness & its believed to be the first time the MK2 Pullman's have been to Weston
On 17/09/2016 saw D1015 work The Cornishman from Tame Bridge-Penzance & being back from Norfolk i popped out for it
On 01/09/2016 while waiting for my train to London to arrive & with the sun rising thought I would try & capture it & had the bonus of a Bristol Green livered power car leading
On 14/08/2016 had a family day at Okehampton as I hadn't done the whole line from Exeter so this is where it started before heading off to the Dartmoor Railway
On 13/08/2016 after working a railtour via the B&H to the West Somerset Railway Galatia worked engine & pob back to Southall via Bristol so got another LMS interloper around WSM
On 11/08/2016 saw me make a rare outing for the Bridgwater Flask's as I used to regularly go out for it but it was on this occasion a pair of 57/3's
Over the weekend of 6/7 08/2016 saw the The Duchy & The Torbay both run but due to gauging issues with The Duchesse in Bristol it ran engine & pob to the West Somerset to work The Duchy from Taunton
On 30/07/2016 the Northen Belle went to Cornwall with DRS 68's but was working in the morning so got them on the return
On 21/07/2016 saw a Colas 70 work the RILA through Weston on what is believed to be the first visit of the class to the station loop line so I was able to get it at the end of my road
On 16/07/2016 saw the first visit of a 68 to Weston station & I wasn't going to get up for an 05:10 arrival which I regret as I did the return at 23:00 but this is the best I could do need more practice as I cant get the hang of those headlights
On 12/07/2016 before heading for the Thames Valley I got the Royal Scotsman on the WSM avoider on what is believed to be its first visit west of Bristol & later on got 158798 in its vinyl wrap
On 10/07/2016 saw the first run of the Torbay Express via WSM & as they had problems the previous week with Royal Scot DB Cargo hired a GBRF 66 to follow it
On 09/07/2016 had a day out at Lands End haulage for the first part was provided by one of GWR's Bristol Green power cars & also see out & about
On 08/07/2016 GWR's first 158 in green was on Weston-Bristol Parkways so with the sun out I managed to get it after work
On 12/06/16 the day before I headed to Cumbria for my holiday GBRF operated 0Z57 so was the only thing I did this year to do with the West Somerset Gala
On 11/06/2016 was heading to Basingstoke to get Hoovers or a rail tour & managed to get this leaving Temple Meads as I arrived
On 04/06/2016 was going to Bodmin & Wenford railway but as they had to change there timetable I had a change of plan stayed home for the first working of 68's on The Northen Belle then headed to Devon to get them on the return
On 26/05/2016 there was a DRS route refresher to Exeter before continuing to Penzance the following day using a 68 so went to Brent Knoll for the shot for a change
On 25/05/2016 after a day around Reading cam back to Temple Meads for 6E81 & had the surprise of 43002 being around & an 0Z74 from Old Oak
On 15/05/16 it was a busy day with plenty starting off with the rail vac returning then due to the failure of 47830 the day before ROG hired a DRS 66 for the stock move to Laira then finally I got a shot of 43002 on a train
On 14/05/16 Coals operated 6X54 with rail vac 4 via WSM avoider so decided to have a go at a moving train in fading light still unsure if I'm happy with the result
On 05/05/16 saw the first visit of a class 68 south of Bristol & on 6V74/6M63 working so being home lunchtime I was not going to let this appearance go unrecorded
On 02/05/16 before attending the excellent GWR St Philips Marsh open day I waited for 6V80 which Bristol Panel held to time & then sent it down a platform rd
On 30/04/16 finished work just in time to get the returning Cornish Explorer tour
On 27/04/16 had a day off so went back to the Thames Valley but as this was day two of the Great Britain IX tour I made it back to Temple Meads in time to get its arrival
On 25/04/16 having heard during the day that 43002 had been seen in a revised livery & finishing work to discover that it was on the 15:30 from Paddington to Weston it was home grab camera and back up the station in time for it and feel luck as it was the only day it was in service like this
On 24/04/16 saw the VSOE return from its weekend in Cornwall
Over the Weekend of 9-10/4/16 47830 returned to the South West where it regularly worked in BR days so I wasn't going to miss this being my Weekend off as well
As Bristol-Bath was closed from 2-10/4/16 we had engineers back to Westbury/Hinksey via Weston on 3/4/16 so I managed to get 4 of them along with GWR's Harry Patch power car
On 14/03/16 went out for a DRS loco move but that was caped at Bridgwater so ended up with 0C67 instead
On 10/03/16 rumour was that this could be the last 6M51 from Riverside-Chirk but we will see & I struck lucky with a nice sunset in the background
On 09/03/16 the loco's off the Kilmarnock-Laira were returning to Leicester they were used to collect 31285 from Exeter Riverside & take it to Burton Wetmoor sidings
On 4/03/2016 needing some air as not being good ventured out for 5S56 which yet again headed north with no barrier coach on the rear
On 2/3/2016 I took a break from decorating to pop for what at the time seems to be a weekly occurrence of 6M63 running
On the 21/02/2016 had a day in Devon visiting friends & my haulage from Weston was the GWR green 150 for some more from the day look here
On 13/02/2016 woke to find gen on a pssesion between Uphill junc and Yatton so on the way out had a look around the area & found the site was at Puxton Level Crossing so heres a few I managed to get on a damp Saturday
On 12/02/2016 it was the return of the MOD flask but on this occasion there were no support coaches making the rare opportunity to get a shot of the wagon
On 07/02/2016 GWR's green HST paid a visit to Weston so decided to try an evening shot but not the best but it does show it though
Between 13/01/2016 & 31/01/2016 we had a little flurry of unusual workings around Weston Super Mare first was 6m63 with a combination of a 57+37 then the MOD flask & finally The Lost Boys first appearance since naming on 5V56/5S56 working
On 02/01/2016 with the line from Bristol closed for track renewal at Flax Bourton I had a trip out with not much success but did get tipped of that 143621 was on a Exeter-Weston then back to Taunton well these were common at one point but now much at rarer thing here
